Tasawwuf or Rohaniat, purely a knowledge of inner (self) and a mystical dimension of Islam is commonly referred as a science of religion whose ultimate objective is to attain a high level of self purity by practicing the laws of Quran & shariah. Any rohani seeker, having a desire to attain special love of God and to embrace the divine presence, is required to follow and practice a set of rohani rules & orders under the direct supervision of a qualified sheikh, who himself must have successfully completed his saluk and shoud have received authorization to guide from another sheikh of the Order. The rohani progression includes the transmission of divine power & Latif energy from sheikh's Qalb to mureeds Qalb. The field of rohaniat is considered to be more practical rather than theoretical and the worldly knowledge transmitted or received by any other means does mot contribute much in the spiritual development of Rohaniat.
Devotional Practices of Rohaniat vary Order to Order but must be learnt and practiced strictly under the supervision of a qualified sheikh (Teacher) who keeping the maladies of mureed in view can suggest the appropriate techniques/ lessons for practice. It is pertinent to understand by every seeker, that progression start with the purification of inner self, and from unrefined Nafs,e Ammara to purified latif level of Nafs,e Mutmanna. Once the mureed develops and attain the most refined level of Nafs,e Mutmanna his Lataifs are opened and he with the guidance of his sheikh, enters into the world of Ghaib or unseen world and start experiencing the mushahedats. At this stage, if mureed (Seeker) continues his rigorous adherence to Quranic teachings, firm belief on his sheikh and a very strong faith in ambition to see the khaliq, he is very likely (God Willing) to experience the reality of Haqeeqat (Divine Presence).
